How Much Does Custom T-Shirt Printing Cost in Perth?
One custom T-shirt, 50 for your team or a larger run of merchandise? The cost comes down to three main things: the garment you choose, how many you need and the design you want printed.
At The Fabric Printer, we offer screen printing, DTG printing and DTF printing in-house at our Osborne Park workshop. We can help you choose the method that suits your order, with advice on price, finish and how the print will work on your chosen garment.
For a starting point, a single Staple Tee with a full-colour A4 DTG or DTF print costs $36.48 + GST. For 50 Staple Tees with a one-colour screen print, the price is $19.78 + GST per shirt.
Here’s how custom T-shirt printing prices compare across a few common quantities.

Prices are per shirt, plus GST, and include a Staple Tee with one print position. Digital prices are for a full-colour A4 DTG or DTF print. Screen printing prices are for a one-colour design, with no setup fees. These examples are a guide; your quote will be based on your garment, artwork and order details.
Printing 1–19 T-Shirts
For a personalised gift, a few staff shirts or a small run of merchandise, DTG printing and DTF printing let you order the quantity you actually need. Both have no minimum order at The Fabric Printer, while screen printing starts at 20 shirts.
DTG printing applies ink directly to the garment. It’s particularly well suited to cotton T-shirts and artwork featuring photographs, gradients and fine detail.
DTF printing involves printing your design onto film, then heat pressing it onto the garment. It works across a broader range of fabrics, making it a useful option for mixed garments, polyester and workwear.
Both methods can produce full-colour designs without needing a separate screen for each colour. That makes them practical choices for small orders, including artwork with lots of colours.
You can explore our DTG printing and DTF printing pages for more about each process, or ask us to recommend the best fit for your design.
Printing 20–99 T-Shirts
Once you reach 20 shirts, screen printing becomes another option. It’s especially worth considering when you’re printing the same design across an order of staff uniforms, event shirts or merchandise.
We don’t charge setup fees for screen printing. The price per shirt depends on your quantity, garment, number of print colours and print locations. Simple one-colour designs can offer great value from 20 shirts, while designs with several colours generally become more economical at larger quantities.
For example, a Staple Tee with a one-colour screen print costs $25.60 + GST per shirt at 20, dropping to $19.78 + GST per shirt at 50.
DTG and DTF are still useful at these quantities, particularly for full-colour artwork or orders where the designs vary between shirts. The right choice depends on the artwork, garment and finish you’re after.
If you’re comparing screen printing in Perth, send through your design with your quantity. We can explain which methods suit the job and how they affect the price.
Printing 100 or More T-Shirts
For larger orders, screen printing can offer excellent value. Printing more shirts with the same design makes production more efficient, bringing down the cost per shirt and making designs with more colours worth considering too.
For a Staple Tee with a one-colour screen print, the price drops to $17.48 + GST per shirt at 100 and $15.86 + GST per shirt at 200.
Screen printing can also produce detailed artwork and multicolour designs. Full colour doesn’t automatically mean you need digital printing. At higher quantities, it’s worth having us check the artwork and compare suitable options.
DTG and DTF still have a place in bulk orders. A full-colour A4 digital print on a Staple Tee costs $26.03 + GST per shirt at 100 or $24.65 + GST per shirt at 200. We’ll look at the design, fabric and finish before recommending a method.
Planning to reorder later? We keep your artwork on file to make repeat orders easier. Let us know if you’re matching an earlier order so we can check the previous production details.
What Else Changes the Price?
Quantity is a good starting point, but a few other details affect the cost of custom T-shirt printing.
Your garment choice
The garment itself forms part of the price. Different styles, fabrics and brands will change the total, even when the print stays the same.
For example, at 20 shirts, a full-colour A4 digital print in one position costs $30.62 + GST per shirt on a Staple Tee, compared with $33.62 + GST on a Staple Long Sleeve Tee.
If you’re flexible on the garment, tell us how the shirts will be used and the budget you have in mind. We can suggest suitable options.
The number and size of your prints
Each additional print position adds to the cost. For example, a front-and-back print costs more than a front print only.
For DTG and DTF printing, the size of each print also affects the price. For screen printing, the price is the same regardless of print size, within our available print dimensions.
Include the approximate size and location of each print so we can quote accurately and check that your design fits your chosen garment.
Your artwork and colours
For screen printing, the number of colours and the printing process affect the price per shirt. We don’t charge setup fees.
Your choice of ink can also change the look and feel of the print. We offer water-based inks for a matte finish and plastisol inks for a semi-gloss finish, plus specialty inks that add texture, shine or something a little unexpected:
-
Puff ink creates a raised, three-dimensional finish.
-
Shimmer and glitter inks add metallic sheen or sparkle.
-
Fluorescent neon inks deliver bright, bold colours.
-
Glow-in-the-dark inks glow in low light after absorbing light.
-
UV blacklight clear coats reveal designs under UV blacklight that are barely visible in normal light.
Specialty inks and finishes can affect pricing, so let us know what you have in mind. Explore the examples on our screen printing page, or visit our showroom to see the finishes in person.
For DTG and DTF, adding more colours doesn’t require additional screens. This can make them economical choices for smaller orders with colourful or detailed artwork.
The quality of your artwork matters too. Send your original vector file for a logo if you have one, or the highest-resolution image available for a photograph or full-colour design. We can check the file and let you know if it needs any preparation before printing.
Your deadline
Allow around 3–4 weeks for screen printing. Standard DTG and DTF turnaround is 4–14 days, with 24-hour and 2–3 day rush options available.
Let us know your required date when you enquire so we can confirm availability, the production timeframe and any rush costs.
Not Sure Which Printing Method to Choose?
You don’t need to work that out before contacting us. That’s part of what we’re here to help with.
Because we offer screen printing, DTG and DTF in-house, we can look at your order as a whole and recommend a suitable option.
Looking for an embroidered logo instead? We also offer embroidery with no minimum order. It’s a popular choice for polos, hats and workwear, and can suit heavier T-shirts too. Send us your logo and garment preference, and we’ll help you choose a suitable option.
If you’d like to compare the finishes in person, visit our Osborne Park showroom. You can feel the garments, look at decorated samples and chat with our team about what will work for your shirts and budget.
